Founder Maria Pacheco started a project to improve the lives of people in Guatemala (especially rural areas) after experiencing the brutality of the civil war that lasted for nearly 40 years. Based on the business model of fair trade, Wakami was established with the hope of connecting Guatemalan craftsmen with people all over the world and eventually making poor countries around the world richer.

This anklet has three cords, based on the popular Wakami 7-strand Japan-exclusive model. As the name suggests, it is a long-selling model that comes with a set of three types of anklets. It is based on the story of the birth of the world, which is passed down in Guatemala, and each cord is made with a wish for world peace, so it is said that when it breaks, that wish will come true. Since all the cords can be separated, we recommend thinking about how to combine them to match your style for the day, or sharing them with a loved one.
